SYNOPSIS

Experience Little India together with a storyteller. Walk down alleyways and hidden streets as you discover some of her favourite wall murals. Follow her as she visits her favourite museum and be introduced to some treasured artefacts. Listen to short stories along the way. Stop for a traditional banana leaf meal and stock up on some local snacks. Accompany her as she buys some flower garlands and completes her day at a temple.

About Kamini Ramachandran

Kamini is a pioneer in the field of oral storytelling in Asia. Known for her site-specific storytelling experiences she has produced story tours and immersive storytelling experiences. Her SIFA commission saw her activate The Armenian Church heritage monument with indoor and outdoor storytelling; she produced In Search of the Gelam Tree combining walking tours, visits to heritage spaces, and stories that culminated with a traditional meal; she has designed in-gallery and object-based storytelling programmes for museums and galleries; and has been featured for the last eight years as part of ARTWALK Little India.
A respected teaching artist, she and has developed storytelling courses for the NHB’s museum-based learning for docents, and has conducted workshops for STB’s Passion Made Possible ambassador guides.
She founded The Storytelling Centre Limited to advance the art of storytelling through the Young Storytellers Mentorship Programme. She is also creative producer of StoryFest Singapore.
